Meet Mr. Carnes

Hi! My name is Mr. Chip Carnes and I am a 4th Grade teacher at Jaindl Elementary School. The 2014-15 school year will be my 8th year working in the Parkland School District. My experience with the district includes one year of being a DRP aide and substitute teacher, two years of teaching Kindergarten at Fogelsville Elementary, and four years as a 4th grade teacher here at Jaindl. I also am the Assistant Cross Country Coach for Parkland High School. I graduated from Bloomsburg University in May of 2007 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Mathematics. I received my Master's Degree in in Instructional Technology: Digital Classroom Technology from Kutztown University. I am currently pursuing of my second Master's in Online Teaching from Wilkes University. I am learning a lot of great ideas to incorporate into our classroom!

I live in Allentown with my beautiful wife, Megan, our son, Miles, and our 5 year old dog, Romo. We moved to the Lehigh Valley after college and have been here for the past eight years. In my free time I enjoy playing every sport known to man, especially slow pitch softball and basketball. I currently play on a softball team with a lot of other Parkland teachers. We are getting better each year and we enjoy playing the game and having fun! As for sports teams, I love the Chicago Cubs and can only hope they will win a World Series in my lifetime. After 107 years, it is bound to happen eventually! I also like the Dallas Cowboys (hence our dog being named Romo), which isn't received well from the majority of my friends! I like Duke in College Basketball and dream of someday going to Cameron Indoor Stadium to watch a game!
